Reign's Rescue and Journey

Reign upon rescue with injured leg

RCR recently welcomed the beautiful Reign into care after a volunteer foster home messaged the Pet Rescue coordinator upon spying an injured cat in need of help under an abandoned home, seeking assistance, Thankfully, Pet Rescue was able to help and the cat was rescued and taken to a vet for assessment.

It is suspected that Reign is suffering from a bone infection from a deep bite wound from another animal. He was given anti-inflammatory medication, an antibiotic and prescribed time to rest. While Reign will be diligently monitored by his loving foster family, the infection is serious and amputation of the limb has not been ruled out. However, if it comes down to that, he has adapted well already to using 3 limbs.

Reign will have a weekly check up the next couple weeks and we hope that the joint(s) heal but there may always be lameness in that leg. The poor fellow could not put any weight on it at the time of rescue but he’s a trooper, especially when it comes to the painful bandage changes! Reign has his own little fan club at the vet clinic.

Please keep this lovely fellow in your thoughts and prayers over the next few weeks. As always, donations and volunteers are needed! Please visit our website for more information: Regina Cat Rescue
