Background
Higgins had been hanging around the home of a caring woman who finally coaxed him into a carrier after several weeks and took him to a local vet clinic to check for a microchip or tattoo. When none was found, RCR was contacted for help. When Higgins found his way to RCR he had obviously been on his own for quite some time. His coat was so badly matted that he had to be completely shaved, he had wounds from getting into fights with other male cats and he was so hungry he devoured any food put before him.
Higgins has quickly settled into his foster home and he enjoys the company of the other cats. All Higgins just wants is to be loved and he is happy for any kind of attention he gets. Chin scratches are a big hit and he loves to be snuggled in his foster mom's arms. Though you can't tell in the photos, Higgins is a polydactyl and definitely uses his extra toes to hang on to his foster mom for extra hug time.
Though Higgins is being fostered with a dog he does not like her and prefers to hide in the basement when the dog is in the house. Given this fear of the dog, Higgins foster home thinks it would be better for him to do to a home with only cats as furry friends.
