Background
Evan’s an amazing little trooper who has a most harrowing rescue story. Rescued from under the deck of a special care home with his mom and littermates as a tiny kitten, Evan didn't thrive the same way his siblings did. Additional veterinary visits confirmed that the sweet little guy had a heart murmur most likely caused by a hole in his heart. With no funds available for the specialized care offered by the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Regina Cat Rescue had to put Evan on hold, provide supportive care, and keep our fingers crossed that the hole in his heart would close on its own.
Evan was adopted once but returned through no fault of his own. He truly needs other cats to give him confidence.
Fast forward to several months later and Evan’s a happy and healthy cat. His heart murmur is still pronounced, but he’s active and engaging. Evan handled the stress of his neuter surgery, including anesthesia, like a champ, signalling that he’s no longer the same feeble kitten that we rescued. He's been doing amazing and we know the right home is out there for Evan, even with his heart condition!
