Help Needed for Two Mama Cats

Every year PFA rescues a number of mama cats with litters and we are fortunate to have some kind fostser families willing to take in the little feline families and help them get their own forever homes.

Right now, we have an unusual situation in that we have two mama cats that need to be prematurely separated from their litters for different reasons, and we need to find new foster homes for them.

Medusa is a tiny black cat who is barely more than a kitten herself. She has been a good momma cat but now needs to be separated from her kittens as she is too rough in her handling and is hurting them. Her carrying of them has caused scabs and scarring on the tiny babies' necks. She isn't aggressive and is great with people, but she is a young and inexperienced mama cat.

Medusa has been separated from the kittens but is stressed and bored in isolation, but still too hormonal and defensive to integrate with the other family pets.

We are seeking a quiet, no pet foster home for Medusa where she can get the attention and love she needs while she gains weight and strength so she can be spayed and listed for adoption.

Sasha is another young mama with five beautiful kittens. She is doing a great job of nursing them, but it has been to the deteriment of her own health. She is alarmingly tiny and underweight, despite special food and supplements for her, and she has chronic diarrhea. We have medication to help her but it means that she is no longer able to nurse her kittens and must be separated from them.

We would like to find a new foster home for Sasha as well, although she is calmer and could be fostered with other animals. Alternatively, her kittens could be moved but require supplemental feeding.
