Moonlight, the Amazing Mama!
Mama cats can be pretty amazing little creatures and it was no surprise to us when our sweet little rescued mama, Moonlight, became a surrogate mama to some other little kitties in need.
Here is our precious girl busy nursing not only her own 3 babies, but also two other kittens who are several weeks older but who didn't get enough time with their own mamas for various reasons.
Little Loki, small grey guy, was separated from his mama Sasha at only 6 weeks as she was too frail to continue nursing and still retain her own health.
The other grey guy is a 12-week old feral kitten who recently joined the family to be socialized and become ready for adoption.
Moonlight calmly and happily welcomes them all. She is a very nurturing little cat, and is a very young mama herself at only 10 months of age.
Moonlight and her babies came to use on the Labour day long week-end when they were found hiding in a garage about to be torn down for renovations. She is easy-going and laid-back and at peace with all the creatures in her midst, human and feline alike.
Moonlight will be available for adoption once her kittens are weaned and she is ready to be spayed, and we will be seeking a special home for this sweet girl, one that appreciates and reciprocates her amazing ability to love.
