Saying goodbye to Snoopy
As our dedicated feral feeders will tell you, watching over PFA's feral cat colonies is a job based on passion for cats and not the affection they give you. The volunteers that feed at each station knows every cat by name and keeps watch over them to make sure they are healthy and safe. Unfortunately, living outside has it dangers and this was a sad reality this week when one of our long time residents at our oldest colony died this week.
Snoopy was one of 10 feral cats who had lived at PFA's warehouse district feeding station for over 10 years. Over that time she had developed a trust of the feeders that came each day to care for her, and she would reward them with coming out to eat while the volunteers were still there. A big step for a feral cat. She would come running out to greet the volunteers at their cars and would patiently waited for them to put out the soft cat food.
Snoopy was a wonderful cat who got along well with her feline family and will be sadly missed by her fellow colony mates. The volunteers who took care of her everyday will miss her presence the most, along with the business owners in the compound she called home.
Rest in peace sweet girl. You have had an amazingly long life for a feral cat. You were one of the lucky ones.
