A New Rescue to Ring in the New Year!

When one of our hardworking board members booked a cabin at Kattepwa for a quiet New Years getaway with friends, the last thing she expected to encounter  was a stray cat in need.

But, upon arrival at the cabin, they quickly discovered a tame stray sheltering under the porch, frozen and hungry. Despite the fact that we are always overloaded, they could hardly leave him behind!

Nigel arrived to his temporary foster home this afternoon, hungry and happy to be rescued. He is a sweet, gentle giant of a cat - so big that we suspect Maine Coone or Norwegian Forest Cat in his lineage despite his hungry state. This poor boy has already lost his ears to frostbite but things are looking up!

Sweet Nigel will be booked for vet care and sterilization and be listed for adoption as soon as possible.  He deserves a loving home to kick off 2013!
