Sad news for Diego :(

Last week we blogged about a very sweet cat named Diego. During his neuter, Diego began to have trouble breathing and it was discovered that his lungs were full of fluid. At the time everyone was hoping the fluid was related to a rare reaction to anesthetics and Diego was discharged to an experienced foster home to recover.

Sadly Diego lost his fight on Friday July 26th. His foster mom rushed him to the vets when Diego began to have trouble breathing again. After an exam and x-rays were done it was discovered that the fluid had completely filled his lungs again. In combination with an irregular heartbeat, the fluid build up was due to heart failure. With his foster mom by his side, Diego passed peaceful over rainbow bridge and is no longer in pain.

PFA would like to thank everyone who donated to help in Diego's recovery. Any funds remaining will go to the veterinary care of our many or rescued cats and kittens.

Diego, you were only in our lives for a short time, but you made an impact and will be forever missed.
