Left Behind and Looking for a Home

I visited the home of a PFA volunteer this evening, and throughout the course of the visit I kept hearing a scratching noise.  In the home of a loving cat-owner with several kitty companions, that would not be unusual but in this case, the scratching was at the front door.

It turned out to be this handsome fellow, Sasha. Sasha is an 11-12 year old cat who was abandoned when his owner moved to BC last month, leaving Sasha homeless with winter coming.

Our volunteer is feeding him and trying to provide him a warm place to sleep at night. She made sure he got vet care for a recent tooth infection.  But with a house full of rescued cats ranging in age from 1 -18 years, she isn't in a position to take him in, no matter how hard it is to watch him clawing at the door hoping to get inside.

Her neighbours say the poor guy sits on her step all day waiting for her to get home so he can get some food and cuddles. Clearly this guy isn't equipped to winter outdoors and misses having a home.

Sasha is neutered, vaccinated and has recently been vet checked. He is an independent cat that enjoys some cuddles and belly rubs but would be a great low maintenance pet for a single or older person.  He just loves to have a warm place to sleep and a full food dish.

He needs a temporary or permanent home so he can get off the street before it gets really cold and snowy.  Please consider giving this old guy a break before the temperatures really start to drop!
