As the Data Analysis volunteer you will play a vital role in tracking data for Regina Cat Rescue operations.

You will work closely with other RCR volunteers to obtain, track, and analyze data. You will utilize your area of expertise to provide a thorough explanation of your analysis and how RCR can improve on their efforts, including suggestions on how RCR can make the most of the internal database and any other programs as requested. As a remote-based organization, you will be working from home mostly, aside from the occasional time when you meet individuals in person.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team leads to obtain, track, and analyze data, which may include but is not limited to:

    • Analyzing data on cats in care, length of time in care

    • Revenue streams

    • Social media and website marketing data

  • Work to transition RCR’s organization from use of paper records to fully digital

  • Work to identify any incomplete information and discrepancies, and assist to resolve such challenges

  • Receive, review, and respond to relevant incoming emails from RCR volunteers and the public

  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager, Board of Directors, and RCR team leads to create  a user manual for any software programs utilized for RCR operations, Provide training to incoming and existing volunteers on how to effectively and efficiently use the software and when

  • Commit to monthly meetings with the Operations Manager and RCR teams, where you will provide an oral written report

  • Other responsibilities as directed by Board of Directors

Time Commitments

  • 2 - 4 hours per week.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Commitment to RCR’s mission and love of animals

  • Education and past experience analyzing data

  • Past experience with BARRK and Google programs would be a strong asset

  • Excellent written and oral communication

  • Ability to work well independently and collaborate with others as a team player

  • Access to phone/computer/internet/email is a requirement, as you will be provided an RCR email address, which is a primary means of communication

  • Familiar with reporting within nonprofits and/or in other capacities

  • Quick learner and good with numbers
