No more kittens. Sure, kittens are cute, but there are far too many being born already. Regina has a cat overpopulation crisis. When you let your cat breed you’re making the crisis worse and causing suffering.
Reduce suffering. RCR volunteers find kittens born under decks, in sheds and in alleys. And the ones we find alive are the lucky ones. Some kittens freeze to death, others starve to death and some become food for other animals. The amount suffering is unbearable — but it’s easy to prevent by spaying or neutering.
It’s better for your cat’s health. By spaying your female cat or neutering your male cat you’re doing them the biggest favour you can! You’re reducing their chances of getting certain cancers and infections.
It improves their behaviour. Sterilization removes the urge to mate. That means no more spraying, wailing or marking territory. Your cat won’t feel the need to find a mate — so the need to roam or get in fights will decrease or stop all together.
Save money. It costs money to spay or neuter your cat, but caring for litter after litter of kittens costs even more. You’ll need kitten food, litter, litter boxes, toys, de-wormer, vaccinations and other veterinary expenses. Save yourself money in the long run by having your cat sterilized today!
