The Story of Freddy
Sweet Freddy landed on RCr’s radar screen when an older man passed away and his son was taking over the home where multiple cats had taken up residence. They indicated that Freddy was a local community cats that had found a way in the house.
Freddy was one of approximately 12 cats that were bought to the attention of RCR from a concerned citizen who was worried about the fate of the cats with winter coming. One little appeared to have a wound. An RCR volunteer checked on the situation and determined that these cats were frequenting a vacant home that they were able to access.
RCR managed to rescue and foster 6 of the cats prior to Freddy's rescue. Then it was Freddy's turn to to land in foster care, but sadly he was no longer around. After searching everywhere, he was determined to be MIA. We were worried that something had happened to him but he suddenly appeared, standing on the sidewalk waiting to greet the feeder and follow them back to the food bowls. Freddy looked a bit thinner and there was something wrong with his left eye. Freddy was taking to the vet and it was determined that he needed to have his eye removed.
Freddy has been a trooper after being confined for 2 weeks while his eye healed very well. He was slowly introduced to the resident cats in his foster home including his sister Dori. Freddy is a laid back boy that loves attention, loves to sit close to you on the couch requesting non-stop pets and has learnt to play with toys recently. He can be a bit demanding when it comes to meal time so he usually gets served first!
Freddy's life on the street is now behind him. He just needs to find that forever person to give him the love and attention he deserves and he will be sure to give you that in return.
