Another sad goodbye for PFA
It was with heavy hearts that PFA said goodbye to Lizzie, another foster cat yesterday. Lizzie's foster mom has written a tribute which makes anything I could say pale in comparison.

Last night, I lost a friend, a teacher, a soul mate.
Lizzie.
Early this week, I noticed a definite decline in my poor sweeties health. She seemed sad, withdrawn.. Lonely..
I was convinced something was wrong with my baby.
Upon closer inspection of my beautifull rusty brown tabby and her mesmerizing amber eyes. I saw jaundice.. Her liver was failing and my poor girl was suffering right in front of my eyes.
I rushed her to the vet, thinking maybe, just maybe it could be cured. After all, I had helped nurse my childhood Siamese back to health from Fatty Liver Disease some years prior. It had been a long, nerve racking process, but not one I wasn't prepared to take for my sweet Lizzard..
Given her age, signs of depression and withdrawn attitude, combined with her heavy weight. I was almost certain she had the same Fatty Liver Disease I'd conquered a few summers prior. I hoped for the best and commenced treatment immidiately. I couldn't give up on this sweet loving mama bear who had dedicated her life, along side me to help shape and mold the other fosters into perfect feline citizens..
Yesterday.. They told me the bloodwork had revealed more alarming results..
Results she likely wouldn't recover from..
We went to say our good bye's..
I love you's.. And we'll never forget you's..
& just like that my sweet old lady, received her very favorite.. Very last.. Chin rub and went to sleep in my arms..
Thank you Lizzie for being the amazing alpha female you were, to our pride of fosters.
You were one in a million baby Gurl..
& I miss you SO much.. Please take good care of Ferris and all the other PFA kittens over the bridge.. They all deserve a loving mama bear like you..
