PFA's Christmas Present - Noel the kitten
Meet Noel, a female kitten rescued by a kind cat-lover on Monday night during the coldest wind-chills and temperatures yet this winter, with the day beginning at -49. She was found staggering frozen and disoriented in a ditch near Balgonie, with so much pus oozing from her wind-whipped eyes that they were nearly frozen shut and she could hardly see.
Noel was taken to the vet early Tuesday and her eyes were so goopy and crusted that she had to be anesthetized to clean and treat them.
She is now in a temporary foster home where she can recover and get some much needed TLC. We are hoping that she will fully recover her eyesight but it is too early to say if any permanent damage was done. She has been given anti-biotics and is receiving daily eyedrops.
We are just grateful that she was found in time, and was able to be rescued as she would not have survived much longer on her own. Noel is our Christmas miracle kitty!
