Dexter Needs a Home

This little cutie-guy is Dexter, a young DMH male cat. PFA was recently contacted by a family who was feeding a friendly little stray and they were worried about his welfare as they were about to embark on a winter holiday.

We agreed to take Dexter on as a rescue with the hope of placing him a satellite adoption centre and a quick adoption. However, it isn't that straightforward. Dexter's time on the streets wasn't without consequence. He came to us with a serious wound on his neck that required 5 stitches to close.

He has now been treated by a vet, neutered and tested for Feline leukemia. All is good, but he is on anti-biotics and can't go to a satellite adoption spot while on medication.

We are looking for a foster home to care for Dexter, either short or long-term, until he either gets a home or can move on to an adoption centre. He needs medication for 10 days minimum, then will have a re-check.

Dexter is friendly and affectionate, and good with kids and dogs.
