Foster Management Lead
As the volunteer Foster Management Lead, you will play a vital role in Regina Cat Rescues operations and rescue efforts. You will work closely with other RCR volunteers to recruit, assess, and support Foster Home volunteers.
You will assess and place rescued cats into appropriate foster homes, overseeing their health and well-being while they remain in RCR’s care. You will work closely with other team members to ensure the transition from foster home to adoptive home goes smoothly. As a remote-based organization, you will be working from home mostly, aside from the occasional time when you meet individuals in person.
Responsibilities
Liaise with other RCR volunteers to recruit and assess potential foster homes for suitability
Assist with intake and placement of rescued cats into RCRs care, assessing whether they require immediate medical attention or can be placed into the suitable home placement
Ensure cats in RCRs care maintain up to date veterinarian care, coordinating with Transportation Support volunteers as needed; providing vaccines and treatments to rescued cats as required
Liaise with veterinarian clinics, establishing and maintaining a healthy and positive working relationships with the various clinics
In collaboration with the Supply Coordinator, ensure foster home volunteers are provided the necessary supplies needed to ensure the health and well-being of the rescued cats upon intake and ongoing
Support foster homes by answering questions, ensuring foster homes are aware of risks and take measure to protect their own cats; checking in for regular updates of status of rescued cat, coordinating write ups and pictures of cats to be sent to the Communications and Marketing team to post on RCR’s website and social media platforms
Receive, review, and respond to relevant emails daily, as this will be a primary method of which foster homes and other team members will provide their communication through
Ensure information on RCR’s internal database is accurate and kept up to date
Commit to monthly meeting with the Operations Manager and other RCR team members, where you will provide an oral/written report
Other responsibilities as directed by Board of Directors
Time Commitments
Variable, 6 hours per week during peak times.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Age requirement of 18+ is a must, along with a valid license and reliable transportation
Commitment to RCR’s mission and love of animals, and willingness to open your heart and home to rescued cats
Strong leadership, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient organizational and time management skills
Ability to think quickly and creatively to problem solve
Ability to work well independently and collaboratively as a team player
Access to phone/computer/internet/email is a requirement, as you will be provided an RCR email address, which is the primary means of communication
Ability to manage and navigate diverse individual, while accommodating their varying needs
