Social Media Content Creator

As a volunteer Social Media Content Creator you will play an essential role in showcasing Regina Cat Rescues efforts through public platforms.

You will work closely with the Communications and Marketing Social Media Lead and other RCR volunteers  to engage the public through creative content on RCR’s various social media platforms. Please note this role does not assist with RCR’s website and/or design assets. As a remote-based organization, please note RCR does not have an office space/facility.

Responsibilities

  • After receiving directions and guidance, create content to display on RCR’s social media platforms, ensuring they are reflective of current and upcoming events and in alignment with RCR’s initiatives

    • This includes attending any RCR events and/or meeting with volunteers to take pictures and videos, and using editing software to create reels and content, etc.

  • Assist with drafting written posts to display on social media: requests for volunteers, calls for donations/sponsorships/memberships, donor/grant/membership/sponsorship recognition, content about rescue efforts, featuring rescued cats/adoptable cats

  • Provide updates to the Communications and Marketing Social Media Lead, so they can accurately create bi-monthly board reports

  • Other responsibilities as directed by Board of Directors

Time Commitments

  • 2 – 4 hours per work, depending on project: this would include any meetings, email/phone communication, recording, and editing of content.

    Please note while we do our best to accurately reflect time commitment required to ensure interested individuals are aware, it may fluctuate depending on the time of year and seasons

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Age requirement of 16+ is a must, valid license and reliable transportation

  • Knowledge of photo and video editing software

  • Experience with social media content creation considered an asset

  • Access to reliable internet coverage and phone or computer with access to email, as this is the primary means of communication

  • High attention to detail and self-directed with creativity, while following direction

  • Commitment to RCR’s mission and love of animals

  • Proficient with written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively as a team player

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and problem solving skills

  • Ability to think quickly and creatively
